News & Reminders
Week of January 31, 2012
New Member Class
If you have been visiting with us at NSP and would like to consider joining our congregation, or even if you just want to learn more about who we are as a church, you are invited to attend the New Member Class starting on Sunday, February 12 as a part of the School of Life and Doctrine. For more information about the class and to sign-up please go to our website here and submit the brief form at the bottom of the page. This class will meet for 8 Sundays through February, March and April.
SoLD in February
The School of Life and Doctrine will meet twice in February. On February 12 we will gather for a planned pot-luck supper (Italian food) at 5:00 pm followed by classes at 6:00 pm. Watch for the Evite coming later today and please RSVP. If you sign up to bring food please be sure to do it in the "What to Bring" table and not in your RSVP comments - thanks! On February 19 we will meet for classes only at 5:00 pm.
Women's Bible Study
The Women's Bible Study meets on Mondays in Lake Highlands and Tuesdays (tonight) in Lakewood. All women are welcome. For times and exact locations find the entry on the January Calendar or contact Jan James (email or 214-438-0120).
Union Gospel Mission
Starting on February 7, NSP will send a team of volunteers on the 1st Tuesday of each month to Union Gospel Mission to help prepare and serve dinner from 6:30-9:00 pm. Our UGM team for February is now full, but if you would like to serve in March or April then look on our website under Service Opportunity where you will find more information and a sign-up form. Please submit the webform and direct questions to NSP member Eric Flyg (email or 214-417-5782).
Men's Prayer
All NSP men are invited to gather for prayer in the church office conference room each Monday at 7:00 am.
Sheds of Hope Build
The PCA's effort to build storage sheds for families affected by the Texas wildfires last summer continues to progress. Teams have completed and delivered 18 sheds, and now 9 remain to be finished. Each shed requires a team of 4-6 people working for about 3 hours. If you are able and willing to travel down to the Austin area for a build-day this Saturday, February 4, please contact Rick Lenz (email or 817-690-8107).
